project updates.
remember when i asked you to help me throw a party for the children
imprisoned in Uganda? well, God used you in a mighty way. enough money was
raised for TEN of these parties! chicken, rice, beans, sugar, fruit, juice.....a whole
feast is being provided! the first party was scheduled during my trip there,
but i was very, very sick that day. it was the only 36 hours that i've been sick
in africa. i was beyond sad to miss it, but they had a party at one of the younger
children's 'remand centers' and i heard they had music & laughter & so much fun!
last week, they had a party at M. this is the original facility that Sixty Feet began working
with and the one that i visited. those twins in the upper left pictures have captured by heart.
[you can see them in some of my past posts that are tagged Sixty Feet.]
i love that they are holding their full bellies and their big grins!
yet, what i read after seeing these happy pictures breaks my heart.
they had been very low on food at M, so they had been skipping breakfast and having
very small lunches. heart-breaking. yet, He knew & showed up just in time.
when the Sixty Feet staff & interns pulled up with chickens,
vegetables, fruit and all....it was an answer to these children's prayers.
how often do we say that we are hungry? these children were hungry.
thank you to each of you that saw these children's needs and allowed
yourself to be used to meet them.
you can follow along with Sixty Feet & these precious children
& check out their sponsorship program coming soon.
.......
i've been humbled and blown away by your support for the clean water well in
Busoga. in the 8 days since i shared with you all that dirty, swamp water that they
are drinking, God has raised $5,500 towards their clean water! it is truly amazing.
| [africans don't typically smile for pictures. i just told them, seka! we're going to figure out how to get you clean water!] |
we only need 62 more people to give $32 for my 32nd birthday.
sixty two people!!
maybe it can be you today. maybe it is one of your friends.
would you prayerfully consider donating or sharing this opportunity to
tangible love the people of Busoga, Uganda with clean water?
here is my original post on this village if you need to catch up or share with your friends:
here is the direct link to donate via the 'chip in' button at the bottom of this post:
please make sure that you are going back and commenting on that post
if you are donating or helping spread the word. i have a Kisses for Katie
book for someone and i'm adding in a Let Love Grow shirt &
a piece of beautiful Uganda bead jewelry that i bought this last trip.
thank you so much for caring about these people on the other side of the world.
no matter if they are in our backyard or on the other side of the ocean,
let us love in word and action.
.......
