sling diaries :: delight

i wake to the twins nestled warmly beside me.  there are a precious few

minutes at that part of the day to breathe deeply & lie gratefully in whatever 

is to come of the day.  soon, there is the hustle & bustle of a house of 11

and i need to make sure that my focus is where i'd like it.

so, as most mornings, i quietly repeat to myself to delight in them.

over and over every morning, i remind myself that i desire to realize

the importance of what is right in front of me.  i want there to be time

to stop & look in the eyes.  to not only listen, but to hear them.

to weigh the importance of what we're doing with how it will

shape their hearts. to delight in the little things that are oh so big.

some days i do it better than others, but always it is there in my heart,

resetting itself when i get off track.

delight in them.

love them well.

these are precious days that we cannot get back.
