we all scream.

my friend, mandie, went and got our boys from their orphanage & brought them to 

her house for a few hours of fun.  they had a water balloon fight, skyped with us &

had ice cream from the ugandan version of an ice cream truck.  it's a man with a 

cooler of ice cream on the back of his boda [motorcycle].  as he comes close, you can even

hear the well-known ice cream truck jingle playing.  i remember skyping them early

that morning for us.  we were all so excited and filled with anticipation.  

we had FINALLY gotten a court date the month before after waiting a long

3 months after filing for one.  the boys knew that in two weeks, i'd be on my 

way back to them.  mandie and a friend made a paper chain that day so that 

the boys could count down the days until mom came back by removing a link

to the chain each day.  so special.

april 9, 2012

here we are almost exactly 8 months later and our boys got to stand with

their sisters and brother on our driveway & hear that familiar tune drive closer

and closer.  nico was a bit perplexed that there were so many choices [America

is quite complicated sometimes, isn't it?!] but chose the birthday confetti ice

cream sandwich.  jude just jumped around excitedly and picked the cookies

and cream ice cream bar.  i taught the kids the we all scream for ice cream bit and it was

hilarious to hear jude do it in his little accent.  [i was thinking the other day that i haven't 

really posted video of them talking, huh?  you have to hear their cute.]

anyway--so thankful they are home, for all those that loved on

them as they waited and the work God is doing in everyone in our family!
