right before our family left for Uganda, i put out a call here to
help Ekisa Ministries by donating underwear for the children in their care.
a $2 donation/pair was suggested and [once again] you, my friends,
blew me away. it was an absolute blessing to deliver them almost $100
worth of underwear. below are the precious kids holding some!
you know what else though? God had bigger plans for this little
underwear drive. because of each of you that gave from some of the
treasure you have been blessed with, an extra $625.00 was raised!
i asked emily what they could use most right now with that money &
they had a $3000 donation for an inverter when the power goes out,
[which is quite often] but it's going to cost $3,500 total. so, i've given
her the blessing to use $500 for that and the extra for whatever else
she sees fit. what a blessing that they will have power now when they
normally wouldn't. thank you so much for showing this ministry
and these beautiful children so much love!
as always, i adored my time there and so love what this ministry is doing.
i thought of you all as we loved on them and only regretted that we didn't have
more time--they were getting ready for naps. actually, guess who i went and
stole from his crib even though he was already down for a nap? remember
my little Jojo? oh my, how i love him!

ReplyDeleteWhen I was in Haiti, the children were given new underwear too and they were so, so, so excited. It made me cry. I think everyone should experience something like that, it changes your perspective.
