pastel.
i wore 2 of these to church today. full of pastel-y goodness & some of my
current favorite colors--seafoam & coral. i know there are only a few
shopping days left before Christmas. our family is working together to get these
out next day right now & i'm happy to even include a completed gift tag
if you include instructions & shipping address in the message to seller.

many of you know that this jewelry is helping our family mission trip to Uganda.
our kids are getting so excited. we've had various donations of bibles, soccer
balls, goats & chickens from different friends and organizations. i really love the
relationship that i can see developing with this village as we return.
i take this kind of relationship very seriously. going over and giving hand-outs
and posing for pictures will do nothing for these people. actually, it will--it will
do them harm.
i'm thankful that some of us have met them already,
spent time in their thatched huts, i've prayed with the sick grandmother of the village
& held their children. i love that the people are helping build their clean water well--
they are learning about it and investing themselves in it. they are learning how to
properly care for it. we will be talking with them about self sustaining & empowering
them with knowledge from wise locals. we'll be sharing the gospel with them--no doubt
the first time some of them
in this village [that used to be rampant with witch craft] will have heard it.
we'll be arming them with the Bible in their own language, breaking bread with them,
playing soccer with them, spending time just loving them.
none of this is to brag on us--this is all God's thing and i'm grateful.
we're also so grateful for each of you that is helping get us there by
spreading the word or buying these necklaces!

ReplyDeleteHelp?
I got mine on Thursday. Anika did a wonderful job packing them :) I'm giving two away as gifts tomorrow. I can't wait to share your family story with my friends.
ReplyDeleteI received my two necklaces, packed by Nico! My 11-year old and I are wearing them proudly! When she went to school, her teacher asked her if they were made in Uganda!
ReplyDeleteAs a side note, I'm hosting my very first link up on my little blog this week- if you have a chance to check it out. Favorite Christmas ornaments
Merry Christmas!
