first snow.

dear nicolas & jude,

we've been home for exactly two months now.

you have been home for two months! it's hard to believe that

you wiggled your way into my heart--and then all of our 
hearts--10 months ago. who am i kidding? no wiggling was 
needed. you leaped in and there you have stayed. when we knew 
God had children for us on the other side of the world, i 
began longing for each of you, but i also tried very hard 
to be content in His timing.  God had things

for you to finish there, too.  He was lining up just 
the right people, preparing places & hearts, 
organizing timelines, sanctifying through wait & growing 
each of our faiths. it was hard, but it

was a precious time, that wait. and what a reminder that 
God loves you even more than us & i can see how He's held 
you all along the way. as we've all stepped into this part 
of your journey, i couldn't be more thankful to be your mom. 
i don't regret any of your firsts that i've missed. i know so 
many of those knew love and wonder and joy, too.  i sure am 
thankful for each first we do get to have.  

you are treasured.
