tired.
i'm supposed to be at the grocery store right now. alone & finally
stocking up. we usually have tons of fresh produce, string cheese, yogurt &
pretzels available to the kids anytime, but we've been out for a few days. we've
been rationing the milk & are in need of some fresh protein, too.
yet, that didn't happen & i'm not at the store.
.
.
i also had to cancel two park dates today. two.
one that's been planned, one that spontaneously happened & i
thought would work. it didn't.
even though i doubt those friends truly think this,
i'm tired of not being a great friend. i'm tired of scheduling
conflicts & compromising. i'm tired of being behind on e-mail &
work that 'needs' to happen.
.
.
the babies are napping 2 1/2 hours late. it would've only been
an hour late, but i heard them laughing & jumping in there.
upon going in to investigate, i found them in the same
crib & jumping together in blood.
it was obvious that no one was truly hurt [i think it was a nose?]
but, quite the mess for sure.
so, baths, redressed, washing down of the room &
i think they are settling in now.
.
.
i am tired, tired, tired of checking my e-mail first thing in the morning
and being disappointed. i want to just run from the computer altogether,
but i literally can't now. we don't know what the timing will be,
but with clay, i got the e-mail & had to be on a plane 3 days later.
.
.
i miss the boys so much & i think it has made it even more urgent to me
now that they know they have a family. i hope they can feel everyone's
prayers and love. at the same time that i am so anxious to go, i'm sad, too.
i know it will be worth it, but i also know that it is likely that i will be missing
several weeks of summer. summer--my favorite time. the kids and i together
all day....free to play & learn as we wish. i don't want to miss out on here or
there, but i know that i have to. it is okay & i know it is part of our refining.
.
.
it has been 3 months and 7 days since i laid eyes on our boys.
did you know that i knew immediately?
yes, i immediately knew that these were our sons.
i will tell the story in due time.
it's getting closer.
and so are they. i know that, but at times it is wearying, you know?
35 minutes after we met:

| i think even those around us knew. anna snapped this without me knowing. |
i am not having a day as planned & i'm not particularly feeling
happy-go-lucky today, but this is it. i typed it out and i'm done.
trading in my despair for the day for a garment of praise. [isaiah 61]
i have nothing to be in despair about. nothing.

We laid eyes on our sons in December. We had been paper ready since August. They had been paper ready since November. It should have literally been a matter of putting their papers with ours, giving it to a judge, and getting a court date. (We're adopting from the same country as you)
ReplyDeleteInstead, we wait. With no news and no indication of when we'll have a court date.
much love to you and yours. xo
ReplyDeleteLove you, praying with you.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry it's one of those days Lovelyn......I had one yesterday......then I get mad at myself for letting little things get the best of me......prayers that you are closer to getting your boys home.
ReplyDeletePraying. Wanting them home. Loving you, always.
ReplyDeleteThank you for pouring your heart out today, sometimes it just feels good to let it all out! We definitely missed you today, but we look forward to other opportunities in the future...and hopefully with your boys here as well this summer! Praying for you and for them=)
ReplyDeleteI'll wear your tired for a bit...enjoy the days that you do have with the ones in your home now, and then enjoy the days in your boys' birthplace, with them.
ReplyDeleteLove you...
Oh, and I realize that what I said is SO much easier to say than it is to live...just want to encourage...
ReplyDeletepraying for you, and your darling family! xo
ReplyDeleteHabakkuk 3:17-19
Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
God, the Lord, is my strength;
he makes my feet like the deer's;
he makes me tread on my high places.
(((hugs)))
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your heart today! Will be praying for you and your family.

ReplyDeleteTyping it out is GOOD.

i know the feeling all too well and it's still fresh in my mind. it's draining and depressing, but as you know, sooooo worth the wait. i think i was depressed the entire month of december and then january came! prayers your way, dear friend.
ReplyDeleteThere are days.
ReplyDeleteBut then?
There. Are. DAYS!!!
And those days will soon be here.
Be filled with hope, dear one.
I get the tired!

I've been there. It is so hard to wait for the unknown and have no control. Remember that God does though have a plan. Prayer is all that helps my heavy heart as we wait and dream about adding another child to our family. You are human, so don't beat yourself up. tomorrow is a new day! :)
ReplyDelete((hugs)) I'm sorry you are struggling right now. We waited 2 years to adopt our little Xiomara and I well remember all those feelings. Praying that God will get you through just as He did us!
ReplyDeletei love you and i am praying.
ReplyDeleteLove, your words couldn't be more honestly spoken... thank you for reminding yourself and us through your words. God is in charge, his will not ours. Rest and wait in peace. sending love across the miles. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome. Thanks for sharing the truth and I pray you are with your sons so soon! Lord, hear our prayers!
ReplyDeleteWe are all behind- I'm just now seeing this, that's how far out I am. I love that photo.
