the little pieces.

today's joy is always tempered in me.
tempered with a heavy heart for those longing
to be mamas.  those who are mamas, but their little ones
are in heaven. those missing their own mothers.  the birth moms
all around the world.  and the children--oh my goodness, the children--
who just want someone of their own to call mommy.
extra prayers for each of you today.

today, it also added to my longing for our boys.
i know i should not have expectations, but for many reasons,
i feel like i did this time.  and the boys being home by mother's day
was actually an overshot estimate to me.  like--i really had reason to believe they'd
be home in april.  i had images of our family standing at the front of church today with
the other families that were dedicating their new babies to the Lord. i dreamt of this being the
weekend that our extended families met the boys as we celebrated that dedication.
i miss them. i cannot wait until they are home.
but, i will trust & serve & live & praise as we wait.
[i hope you can, too.  whatever you are waiting on.]

  11. When we started our adoption over a year ago, I had it in my heart April as well. So this Mothers Day I truly thought I would be home with our boy, and here I am without even a referral. God is good and HE knows when the time will be right. Still makes my momma heart hurt a little though.

Love the pictures! You are truly blessed!

  13. I thought of your boys and you yesterday. I remembered you saying that you were hopeful they would be home by Mother's Day. I'm sure your day was sweet, regardless, but would have been oh-so-sweet if you had 14 feet running around. :) Soon...then it'll be time for everyone to celebrate with you!
