it's time.

it's here, it's here!
i am so excited about this movement.  if you don't know,
Listen to Your Mother is a live production of local writers
reading their original pieces on motherhood.

what a special thing to celebrate.
i was thinking yesterday, as i drove around in my new nine
passenger conversion van, how very much this isn't the life i
envisioned.  i guess i don't really know what i envisioned.  i'm not
particularly a planner, but i have always wanted children.
i guess the other things that maybe i didn't think all the way through
when i was younger.  how my plate would never quite be all for myself
anymore. or my lap. or my bed. or my body. or my bathroom time.
how having this household of children would mean that
my 5'3" self is driving around this monster vehicle.
the fact that my heart is split into 7 pieces & walking around
outside of me....yet that split actually multiplies its size.

i'm thankful for all these things.  i really am.
[even though the sharing my food thing is still hard for me sometimes.]
i'm so thankful for these unexpected parts.
that my life is exactly what it is.

i can't wait to celebrate this beauty of motherhood.
the ridiculously hard & ridiculously awesome at the same time.
i adore the people's stories about their moms or being a mom
& can't wait for you to hear them, too.  get your ticket
here or it will be available to watch online later.
there is also a link up here for your stories.
this is the thing. we all have a story.
have you written a piece you would've loved to read?
join in.  our stories deserve to be told.
