trust.
today, as ellie & i put dishes away, a song began playing that neither
of us could resist. she asked to 'get up' & i wrapped her long legs around
me as we twirled in the messy kitchen.
despite her swollen, bruised lip and hands from a fall outside 2 days ago,
she raised her hands up & tipped her head back.
[she knew i had her.]
she laughed & sang along,
yes, Lord. yes, Lord. yes, yes, Lord.
i'd like to do this, too;
let go with both hands.
despite my hurt lip [trust] & bruised hands [heart].
because i do know He has me.
blessed is the man who fears the Lord...
he will have no fear of bad news;
his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
from Psalm 112

I love that song.
