lazy [kinda]

we've had a lazy, happy saturday morning.
i keep meaning to be folding the 5 loads of clean laundry sitting here,
but get distracted by breaks to watch carefully choreographed dances or
clean up everysinglething the babies have dragged out from under the bathroom sink.

then, i download photos and briefly chat with friends about our favorite childhood cartoons.
of course, i need a refill of coffee by now.
our new washer and dryer come, so they take out our others & load them to take to one
of our rentals.  i corral children as they carry them up and down the stairs.
we find the new dryer is damaged so they replace everything how it was
20 minutes ago.  i go back to fold laundry, but the babies are ready for a nap.

fresh diapies, lotion, a little rock and off to bed.
that means snack & quiet time for the biggers.
i finally get to clean up the smashed banana from this morning
and pick up the random headband, microphone & hula hoop laying around.

i feel the need to sit now & go back to photos as a break, but
i haven't done what i set out to do at all.
i'm okay with that.  that is totally my life & that's what we do as moms, isn't it?
take it as it comes and deal with it.
it's not always as planned, but it's happy.
[i am considering taking that word 'lazy' out of the first sentence though.]

spin, baby.

i must get it done now, though.
it's going to be a good, good night.
how is your saturday, friends?

  1. oh funny, the exact same thing happened when our new washer dryer came. dryer broken. and our house is elevated, so I did not envy the back and for with those appliances up and down the stairs!

sounds like it's been "lazy" only for the soul, the kind of busy day that's still relaxing to your heart. <3

  2. You definitely need to take "lazy" out of your vocabulary. :)

I'm so inspired by your words + photos, and I hope that someday we can meet in person so I can be inspired by you in whole new ways. :) xoxo

  4. we've been having lazy saturdays and it's nice. i use to get stressed to HURRY UP AND GET OUT AND HAVE FUN---while yelling at the kids and my husband to get out the door!

now, we enjoy each others company and might get out of the house :)

we swam. i scrapbooked. we are watching golf. no laundry, so you win.

  5. Life is what happens on the way "when you're making other plans" isn't that the truth? :) Much of the things I do throughout the day is many distractions, and little bits here and there. I feel REALLY successful if I actually do get something totally done on my list! But I laugh and sigh and go along even if I don't.

  6. Inspiring words to enjoy the closest to a "lazy" morning a momma with 5 little ones can have. Our 2 oldest spend the morning at the lake with the grandparents.
So, we got a much longer list of things done with just the littlest running around, but we all missed the chaos just a bit as well.

  8. I agree, lazy needs to be taken out of there. When you have 5 little ones no matter what you do lazy doesn't fit into the equation.

Sometimes not getting done what you set out to do isn't a bad thing, just different and good can always come of different

  10. Definitely NOT lazy. Sounds pretty productive to me, actually.

Especially the watching choreographed dances and rocking babies parts. ;)

My 18-month-old likes to get everysinglething out from under the bathroom sink too.
