not the most fun i've ever had
chloe: "mom, i have a bump on my head."
me: "let me see." [feel, separate hair, try not to puke]
chloe: "what is it, mom?!"
me: "just a little bug, mama's going to get him."
chloe: "he must think i'm sweet!"
5 minutes, a popsicle, some tweezers, hydrogen peroxide and antibiotic ointment later....

okay, i was a pediatric nurse, and i have (unfortunately) dealt with a lot of unpleasant procedures with kids, but that is not the same as pulling a sucking-with-all-its-might-on-my-baby-girl's-head tick! ugh. but, i kept my game face on and chloe did great! i had to talk her into actually getting rid of it, though! she even suggested that it could be her pet!
so glad that she told me! now we'll just watch that she doesn't develop a rash in the next couple of weeks.
oh.my.goodness. It is amazing the things we can do for our kids that would make us vomit any other time! GROSS. Ticks are one of those WHY??? bugs in my book! And i am LOL at her suggesting that it could be her pet....her and Colby would get along great!! ;)
ReplyDeleteOMG!! Wyatt had one too! In his ear. About a month ago. We think he got it roaming out in the brush with Matt checking the bird traps.
ReplyDeleteI almost died. Luckily I saw it right after he woke up in the morning (he kept itching his ear...) and Matt was still home. I don't think I could have pulled it myself. I was squirming and gagging and itching and FREAKING OUT when Matt did it!
So.Gross.
