broken hearts and happy days

speaking of broken hearts, i talked to one of my friends today that has hers right now. isn't it amazing how pain connects us? i mean, my heart physically aches for her. and although each of our broken hearts have had a different set of circumstances, we're all connected by the brokenness. a dream crushed. a love lost. a life gone. the things that bother my friend the most change from day to day...today she wants everyone to quit pretending like it didn't happen. oh, how i understand this.

we've had even more fun, girly time while matt's away on his trip. goodness, i love play-doh! =) i could play with them for hours! along with necklace making, tent pitching, pool going, soccer playing times. here's some pics from yesterday.
and:
#1. yes, chloe does have other outfits besides this one chelsea made her....she just insists on wearing this one. often. and to play soccer in. *sigh* soccer in handmade boutique girly set.....a girl after my own heart!! ;)
#2 yes, anika has a band-aid on her forehead. no, she doesn't have a boo-boo. (please say you do the one-faux-boo-boo-band-aid thing a day, too.)

  1. My nieghbor and I were just talking about having to hide the band-aid box, so we wouldn't run out of them on faux boo-boos :)

  2. You're SO right about being connected by that common pain. It's awful, especially when you think you're over it all and then WHAM-O...you're back at square one again.

I'm still waiting for that bit where I'm over it. Doesn't feel like it's ever going to arrive, but I'm sure it will.

On another note, thanks for dropping by and ESPECIALLY for joining in on the quiz!

  3. Your little ladies are adorable! faux booboo and all.
I'm so glad that you have someone your friend to lean on and she can lean on you! Makes the road alot easier sometimes.
Hope your hubby has a safe trip and a safe journey back home.

  4. That little outfit your soccer star is wearing.......so cute!

the bandaid thing: we haven't entered that phase yet. So far, my kisses are magical enough to heal. I fear the day we have to put bandaids (which aren't cheap) on every every bump & bruise.

  5. Fake ouchies are the best kind because no hurt is involved, for mama or baby! ;o)

Your girls are lovely and look so happy. I am glad you have a peaceful center today!

  6. cb--thank goodness someone's with me!

amc--see, that's just what i don't know. will it really ever arrive. or is there always just going to be a new "normal."

so glad to join the quiz! very interesting. =)

BC--thank you and thank you. looking forward to hubby getting back!

LP--oh, the magical kisses phase is wonderful. love that. and i buy the "good" band-aids for actually bleeding...the $1 rainbow ones for the faux. a rainbow doesn't always end up satisfying their need--but usually! =)

amelia--so true...i'll take the fake ones anyday! and thank you! =)

*big sigh* i should really switch to typepad so i could actually e-mail all you lovely people!!

  7. We bought Emma some Band Aids when she started walking and let her pick out the box. She picked out Backyardigans and she bumped her head twice that week and we had to put a Band Aid on them. :) We were at Target a few weeks ago and she spotted the Elmo Band Aids so we had to buy those and so far only Daddy has had to use one! I love the pictures of the girls and here's to Matt getting home safely!

Oh, yes, the faux bandaid is the highlight of Evey's day (when I let her get away with it).

    Your girls are precious!
