happy 25th!

yesterday was my parents 25th wedding anniversary. i am so blessed to have always had constant love, gentle guidance, & unwavering support.

thank you, mom & dad, for raising us in a home where we always knew love. thank you for giving us a great example of love & of friendship with each other. thank you for loving your 6 grandchildren with such completeness, patience and fun!

we wrote down some of the memories of my parents that spoke love to us and placed them all in this box. our 2 & 3 year old decided to have me write "gum & lipstick" for nana & "makes us good meat" for papaw. my mom always gives them lipstick if they sleep in their beds all night and sugar-free gum as a treat. =) my dad is an awesome griller, and even the girls have picked up on that already!

one of my favorite memories was when i was competing for our county's junior miss. i told my family that i was just doing it for fun and i wasn't going to win anything. i begged them not to come. i won the 3 individual competitions and the title. i loved my mom for not listening to me and being there to see it all. and i loved my dad equally for listening to me and not coming.
