a few of my favorite things...

i love seeing people's homes. the things they fill their homes with...those are things they love...the things that make them happy. i love how we each have own own taste, style and interpretation. here are a few things from my home that i love....






this is the chocolate hued coffered ceiling in our formal dining room. below the chair rail (which isn't shown) is also this yummy chocolate color.








this is our backsplash in our kitchen. i couldn't find exactly what i was picturing in my head...so i got to choose 5 colors for a random mix. my (type A) hubby was not so sure about this...but loves it now! :)

these are some of our "keys of happiness". the girls earn these when they demonstrate the value that is engraved on each of these beautiful keys. (honesty, generosity, etc) its been a wonderful "concrete" tool for them to understand values. when someone recently asked my 3 year old how she earned the key of perserverence she said "cause my kept trying!"

this is a beautiful tiffany pendant that my sweet hubby surprised me with....it hangs in our stairwell.












i LOVE this wooden cross! and although i usually change my "mantel-scape" (is that an actual phrase?!) every month or so...i've held on to this one for a bit. can you believe it got it from here?






what are some of your favorite things in your home? although "things" can never truly make us happy...i feel blessed to be able to be surrounded by not only people i love and that make me smile...but things too!
