tomorrow.
on mother's day last year, as we waited for nicolas & jude to come home, i wrote this:
today, it also added to my longing for our boys.
i know i should not have expectations, but for many reasons,
i feel like i did this time. and the boys being home by mother's day
was actually an overshot estimate to me. like--i really had reason to believe they'd
be home in april. i had images of our family standing at the front of church today with
the other families that were dedicating their new babies to the Lord. i dreamt of this being the
weekend that our extended families met the boys as we celebrated that dedication.
i miss them. i cannot wait until they are home.
but, i will trust & serve & live & praise as we wait.
[i hope you can, too. whatever you are waiting on.]
now, they have been home 7 months. my mom, dad, sister & family are traveling
right now to our house. we will spend the evening together & stand at church tomorrow
dedicating our newest boys. 2 more little lives grow inside me and we all wait expectantly
for them in a few months, too. so thankful for this weekend and this time.
i hope the same as i did for you last year if you are still waiting.
pssst--i'm chatting motherhood over on The Vintage Pearl and
she's giving away my favorite piece. hurry to enter--ends tomorrow!

Oh Love... This is exactly what I am feeling right now. I was *sure* we'd be home with our daughter by now. I was sure she'd be celebrating her 7th birthday here, not there. I was sure we'd celebrate the loss of her two front teeth here, and yet it is another milestone we have missed in our waiting. God knows... And He is so good... And so we wait on His perfect timing. But in my mind, tomorrow was supposed to be different. Thank you for your encouragement, which you probably weren't intending for me, but that was yet again part of God's perfect timing.
