shade.

our kiddos opted for the shade and snacks as they listened to a concert in the
park.  smart little chickens we have there all lined up.  this week is about cleaning
and playing and organizing and packing and finalizing house things and readying school
supplies and ohmyword i have no idea how this is all going to work.  mostly though,
i think we need to check off on our summer to do list.  i know there is at least:
zoo, go fishing, have a bonfire & star gazing left.  i just typed, but deleted, for someone
to s l o w summer down.  i mean, i want summer to slow down, but also can't wait to
get back to uganda, too.  i think i need to work on contentment today.
i think it will start by sitting on the floor and playing.
happiest of mondays, friends!

  1. We got home from our trip last night and instead of heading in and starting with all the work & unpacking that needed to be done, we went to the front yard and played catch until the rain chased us inside. I almost felt irresponsible but then totally realized I was doing the right thing.

  2. Soaking up the last of summer might be the best way to pass the time?

One of these days I want to pull the kids out of bed and go watch the stars and the lights flicker across the lake.
