operation homeward bound update.
it's time for an update on my birthday project! we are helping
resettle children in homes and families from the prison where they are
currently living. are you confused about children being imprisoned in Uganda?
please read HERE.
i wanted to share this excerpt from a recent blog
post from Sixty Feet. it is written by one of the team members
that is responsible for helping re-settle these children.
As we prepare to resettle children, we meet to discuss their stories...and they are anything but easy. The layers peel back in conversations on concrete floors, holding calloused hands and splintered hearts.... We are meeting children in the hard places...step-parents who do not want them, dads who have died while the child was serving a sentence, children who were on the streets and cannot find or remember their homes. But the Lord is redeeming lives everyday. We get to show children love, justice, and hope in the darkness. The brokenness runs deep, but so does the Father's love and His promise of salvation, restoration and redemption. -Emily with Sixty Feet
as of right now, you all have helped
set 31 imprisoned children free!
that's $2343 that has been raised in 5 days.
i'm so thankful and encouraged by that number. each number represents
a child ready, and now able, to continue their redemption story---in a family.
please continue to join me in prayer that these kids would clearly see
Jesus in this. that the brokenness in us all can only fully be restored by Him.
we have 69 more children waiting to be set free.
could you be one of the 220 people to give $34
in order to set all 100 children free?
for the next 3 days, an anonymous donor
has generously offered to match all donations
up to $1500!
your $34 donation becomes $68 and is so very
close to the cost of setting 1 child free from these
prisons and properly resettling them in a family. ($75)
or maybe you can give $17 and the match will
make your donation one of the 220 people giving $34.
or maybe you can sacrificially, but joyfully give
$5 right now. this company will make it $10 and
it add to the other numbers to equal so very much.
won't you join us?
