right now.
this is exactly what the big kids are doing right now. i've been
sitting on the deck snuggling emelia and evelyn as they others play.
clay & bianca are digging in the dirt. nico just climbed up one more
level. i don't worry with him though--he has great judgment & instinct--even in
tree climbing. i laugh at what i would've thought of myself as a mother
several years ago. oh well, it doesn't change that at both times i was
a good mom. [i think we need to tell ourselves that more.]
jude & ellie will soon be home from kindergarten. i love watching them
come home. they love it there, but i can see a little sigh in them--a little air
let out. they are home. where they can just be.
yesterday was jude's birthday [i'm behind on birthday letters, but
i'll have three of them backdated and up soon.] we always say what
we love about the birthday person as we go around the table at dinner.
we all were doing our favorites about jude & he raised his hand.
he said that he would like to say a favorite. about yourself?! i wondered
as i giggled inside & indicated that he go ahead.
in his sweet, little ugandan accent that i'm so thankful he still has, he said:
i love the part where i come in from school & greet.
my precious son likes seeing his family & greeting them while being welcomed
home with excitement and hugs.
my stars.
i just poured my first cup of coffee. kinda crazy for 2pm, but maybe needed?
the twins need a bath, so i've texted matt to figure out my game plan there.
sure, i can do it with or without him home, but i think the logistics of
a bigger family sometimes make for extra planning. i'm not the best
planner. i kinda love taking things as they come.
but, i'm trying to find a balance there.
what are you up to right now?

Mmm, right now... I'm at my shop, a sunny day downtown. After daycare, my little one will come to me at the shop, just for today, and then we'll go home to make dinner together. Yum!

ReplyDeleteWell, it's Friday morning now.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting ready to run the vacuum, and then make lunch for my youngest and I. His sister will come home after school this afternoon, as will his Daddy from work. We are excited to have everyone home on Friday night! Yeah! (I'm a little stiff for beginning vaccinations yesterday that we will need to travel to adopt from Ethiopia)
Thanks so much for your honest blog that points me toward Jesus and serving HIM!
Have a Blessed weekend!
A
Enjoyed this and the update on the birthday wish!
ReplyDeleteWe are preparing for our third round of out of town guests of the week. Excited about yet another day of having a house full of children I love and their parents to sit around and talk with me! (Okay, not just sit around...sit around and eat!) Washing machine is working overtime with sheets and towels, one napping and one working on school asking, "How much longer until they get here." (Thanks for asking!)
Looking forward to a great weekend. It looks like you are too!
3AM in Kampala - sleep evading me yet again wishing I had a friend to eat chocolate by candlelight with ;) but thankful to have my teenybopper laying under the net next to me. Today she "got" it - you know that moment when the lump in your throat wont go away so I said let's pray, let's pray Jesus steps into their lives and sets them in families lightning fast. Never gets easier, ya know?
