meet zuena.

i want to introduce you to some of the kids of Ekisa--each one such a
neat, special, precious child of God.  these are some of the lives you are
touching by donating just $33 for my 33rd birthday.  you are allowing them
medical care, which is a huge part of Ekisa's budget.  that, in turn, frees up funds
for them to use in other areas needed.  together you are making a BIG difference.

together, so far, you have raised just over $4,000 for these children!

we just need 106 more people to give $33 in order to meet the goal!

thank you for giving and for spreading the word.
let's see if we can find 106 more people to invest in these treasures.

please meet Zuena as told in one of the director's words:

Last December, Zuena made her way into the home and hearts of those at Ekisa Ministries.
Zuena has a condition called Endomyocardial Fibrosis. Not much is known about
the origin of this disease, and there is no cure. Since December of 2011 Zuena has been
hospitalized 3 times in critical condition. Currently she is in Uganda’s national heart
institute, where they are currently treating her for multiple complications due
to her heart condition.

Sister friend is quite the sassy pants and full of personality. One day a few weeks
ago she told Emily that she wanted her hair done to impress the boys. Emily decided
to help her out and gave her some little fluff balls on top of her little head. The first
thing she said once her hair was done? Auntie....Waltaaaa! [one of the boys that lives
at Ekisa, too!] Sister is 6 going on 16.

At Ekisa they have seen this shy, quiet girl turn into a loud and sassy {but oh so loving}
little munchkin. Things that should defeat her keep on coming, but this one is a fighter,
she's scrappy. She just keeps on rolling and winning hearts over with her mischievous
smile and wonderful laugh. Her favorite movie is Tangled...perhaps because of
all the beautiful hair!

A little over a week ago we asked for prayer for our little Zuena. It has been a long week
but Zuena is a FIGHTER - and God has performed a miracle in her life this week. Right
now Zuena is hanging in there, but has a very long road to recovery.
Please keep praying for complete healing - for it is by God's grace and healing
she is still alive today.
