in action.

friends, you know my mad love for Ekisa, right?
if not, let me quote who they are from their website:

Ekisa Ministries International is a non-profit organization
based out of Fishers, Indiana. Ekisa Ministries will provide
those in Uganda, East Africa living with disabilities a place
of understanding and assist them in their physical, mental,
and spiritual growth. In Luganda, the local language of Uganda,
Ekisa means "Grace." By showing God's grace to children in
Uganda with disabilities we wish to see them transformed in His
glory. In Uganda, having a disability is often seen as a curse and it
is not uncommon for those with disabilities to be shunned by their
communities, even their own families. At Ekisa we will create a
safe and nurturing home for children with disabilities. We will also
work with communities and families in an effort to change negative
views toward the disabled.

i love their vision.  i love their action.
they are caring for these kids & the kids are flourishing!
they are coming alongside local families and empowering them
to care for their own children with special needs--something virtually
unheard of in the area.  they are employing people with special needs
to help at the home.

chloe & i with precious [now in heaven] Jojo. :: some of the Ekisa kiddos with their new undies from you all!
here is the thing.
ekisa's medical bills can range from $1500-$6000 every month.
so, that averages to $3750 every single month.
after much prayer,
i'd like to bless them with this amount through the end of the year.
so for the months of november & december,
they will have $7500 in their account to properly care for these precious children.
so they don't have to worry about where the money will come from.
so they don't have to make choices about what medical care is most important.
so they don't hesitate to take a child in for care due to lack of funds.
so they feel our love from the other side of the world....our support of
what they are doing and who they are caring for.
now, let us love.
in action.

will you donate $33 directly to Ekisa for my 33rd birthday?
i understand that $33 can be a lot.
it might be a true sacrifice.
it might lead you to share with a friend & split the amount.
whether you give out of excess or you give out of sacrifice....
just please give joyfully if you feel led.
please share wherever you are able.
most importantly, please pray for the people that have stepped out in
faith and obedience for this ministry and pray for the precious children
and families that they serve.

228 people giving $33 = $7500

i will keep you updated and be sharing more Ekisa stories
as we work together towards this goal.
can you be one of the 228 people?
