everywhere.
we're driving through the streets to the capital city right now. nico is big stuff
and has his own music and headphones. i'm sharing mine with jude and watching them
drum along on the car seat or our legs. we have big hopes of our trips to the city this
week--in progress, but in fun, too.
my moments here are few, but the truth is there are some things that i just haven't had
proper time to process. often my processing is through pictures and typing, but it
is a hard balance to try to respect this place i love and still share, too. i've
spent some time with some families in a village here. by request, i've heard their stories
and captured their lives on my camera. they are hopeful for more awareness,
more help, more funds.
in all honesty, i don't see throwing money at the situation as fixing it.
not that that is necessarily exactly what they are asking, but i feel like it's
our tendency. i also don't think america's way is better or even best.
i am not prideful enough to believe that a wealthy, empty family is
better for a child than a loving family living in poverty.
it's not even comparable.
so, i'm waiting for the right words. the right actions.
i'm here, so i tried my best to love them. and i guess that's what i'm feeling--
the desire for people to get off their knees praying, stand up and love.
oh, you know that i love prayer. i believe in it. i've seen its miracles.
but, at some point, someone has to do something. a tangible love.
coming alongside. discipling. empowering.
caring less about our things and more about our family.
here, there and everywhere.

Amen amen and AMEN sister. Love you. Praying for you, your precious boys, and the people you come in contact with.

ReplyDeleteHi there. I've been eating up your blog today. Hope you don't mind. Your words just ring with His perfect Truth and they are encouraging to my soul (as His truth always is). My husband and I will be adopting one day. I'm beginning to wonder if, out of fear, I've already closed off the door to international adoption before even asking God. That question is probing my heart as I read your life. I didn't think I had, but now God seems to be revealing a fear that I'd unthinkingly withheld from Him.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, just wanted to return the gift of encouragement. You're words are being used for His glory.
Merry Christmas, Kensie
