who needs a little silly clayton fix? i sure did. this kid is joy.
also, he apparently can count to 11 now. he likes Mom's adoration
from that, but even more he likes the laughter that comes from feigning forgetfulness
at the next number to come. he taps his finger on his chin & says hmmmmmm.
our weather has turned chilly. i love the season change, but i keep thinking that
it is tricking me. like surely it shouldn't be time for cardigans and closed-toe shoes yet.
then, i remember. despite the fact that we thought the boys would be home in spring...
and then thought surely in the summer.....the seasons still continue to change and it
really has be 7 months waiting now. it really is time for crisp air and the smell of bonfires
at night.
and as i've told three friends today, [that's a LOT for an introvert!] what can we do except
just keep walking. so, we do. walking into what will soon be Fall on the calendar--
and hopeful that this is indeed the season.
now, you should tell me something. i've been all disconnected and discombobulated
and, as i said, actually started communicating with the outside world today.
the haze is lifting a little. i definitely see a light to getting back to our boys--
definitely see a light to our 7 kiddos home playing together.
so, tell me....how are you?
or does your boy put 8 of his sister's headbands on, too, for a laugh?
or what season are you in? [on the calendar or otherwise!]
Oh boys! I have two and LOVE them. There crazy and loving and keep me laughing each day. We are in the season of preparing and planning for a trip to Africa. Were taking the whole family for a vision trip. We know God has a plan for us there. Were also praying about getting a home study done before we go...incase God speaks big. I don't want to waist time ya know?. He will lead us I know He will. Love your blog. :)
ReplyDelete3 walking toddlers 4 and under, it's a busy creative somewhat messy but oh so fun season! Add homeschooling and potty training to this, yes, that is MY LIFE and loving it!
ReplyDeleteI've spotted my 7 year old boys with about 20 of their sisters bows clipped in their hair (when they thought no one was watching!) :0) Boys are something else, aren't they? They probably think the same thing about us girls. It's fall, it's a season of predictability in our home...one I'm not sure I'm comfortable with!
ReplyDeleteI am waiting for a court date in Ethiopia to bring home our 4 year old daughter to her 3 older brothers eagerly awaiting her arrival. Of course the courts are closed until October, so we are doing a lot of waiting here too!
ReplyDeleteThe weather is a "chilly" 80 right now, but it feels heavenly! :) I'm ready to put the 95-100 degree days behind us... Oh, and we're getting TWO puppies in 3 weeks--craziness! {Thanks for the Clay fix...} ;)

ReplyDeleteWell, today we had a breakthrough with our new son (No honeymoon stage here)...Praise God. AND when his sister got home from school he put on her hot pink sequin shoes and pranced around the kitchen...lol, he has a very silly side that we are seeing come out.

ReplyDeleteRight now, I'm in the season of my last 1-2 months of pregnancy. It's about being accepting and relaxing about what I can and cannot do in a day, enjoying this last bit of time with "just" my husband, getting ready for this little one's arrival, and spending quality time with loved ones.

ReplyDeleteevery single time there is laundry to be folded, elijah finds my underwear and puts them on. sometimes correctly, sometimes on his head.
i am in a waiting season.
and i do believe fall has nearly arrived here in north dakota:)

ReplyDeleteseason changes are hard for me and this one in particular has been tough. lots of emotion heading into september, but looking forward to the fun fall brings.
clay appears to be a real ham! reminds me of evan! so thankful for the joy kids bring.
Well my kids have no sisters to borrow things from but things they put on their heads. Well, they used to put underwear on their heads. It was too funny, if they left them on long enough it seemed to push some skin/fat down a bit and totally change the way they looked.
ReplyDeleteWhat a little ham! He is so silly! Our sweet boy now gets a huge kick out of putting on his big sissy's furry boots and clomping around the house. We laugh every time. :) Although the weather is taking a turn towards fall here, in my little world, it is forever summer!
ReplyDeleteJust welcomed our son after almost two years of waiting. I joked that we could have had an elephant calf gestating. He is home now though and worth the ups and downs, unknowns and fallen through plans. Hang in there. They will be home just in time.
ReplyDeleteOur weather is turning cold and gray. The wind blows and it stings. There's soup back on the menu plan and a not so graceful dance of turning radiators on and off to keep warm, but not too hot.
ReplyDeleteWe're halfway through this deployment and it feels good to know we're here. To know that most of this is behind us. To know that we're looking forward to his last homecoming... That this is our last deployment. That this time next year we'll be preparing to move home to Alabama...

Since I live down the road from ya, we are in fall too. I'm in the season of trying to find long sleeved shirts for the older son because I wasn't prepared for the cold weather this week. But other than that, i got to witness my 2 year old see (and recognize) his first BAINBOW this morning. He was SO excited it almost made me cry. he kept saying, "Momma, see the BAINBOW?" Loved it.

I will pray for you more and more until those boys come home and then i will keep praying be/c that is all we really have!
