glue.
i look at the tiny moments between them and i'm so grateful that they
have had each other. that they do have each other. i can guess that there
will be challenges with re-defining our roles and settling into new ones, but
i know that they are ordained roles that will come. i know that the hard will be worth it
when it happens. this bonding time is precious and we are taking steps that
actually feel so natural right now. i don't know why our children were born
on the other side of the world. i don't know how to explain my love and respect
for their first family while fully believing that we were meant as their family
since the beginning of time. i'm not quite sure how to explain just how i can call
them 'our boys' and mean no disrespect or assumptions of the procedures here--
it is just a deep-seeded love that transcends papers and rulings and borders.
what i can say for sure that i love them fiercely. we love them fiercely.
adoption is sad and messy and based on loss.
i am so grateful to see it all being glued together by redemption.
in them. me. us.

How are the boys dealing with the beaurocratic hold ups? Do they know a lot about what is going on? Are they anxious to leave with you? Scared?
ReplyDeletePraying for all of you!
what a lovely perceptive and observation, Love the picture!!!!
ReplyDeleteit is not always for us to explain or understand. it is for us to accept and cherish...as you do. as each and every member of their new family does. may the glue be as plentiful as the love we feel for our newest grandsons. love you.

ReplyDeleteThat picture made my eyes fill with tears. My first thought: I wish so much my orphan husband would have had a friend like that when he was the age of your boys. To be without parents is a grievous loss. But to have a friend is to not be alone.
ReplyDeleteMy second thought: I can't wait to see your family together.
You make me want to be a better person!
