sometimes, i answer my own questions.

today we had tons of fun with friends. one of them has older boys and oh, how
i was imagining our boys in there with them. it was really fun to listen to them &
watch them play. is it an okay thing to trust in God's timing yet long for something?
i think so, right? maybe i've overstepped that for moments. i mean, the timing seems
a little crazy. we're moving into a new house, bringing the boys home, starting school
& matt is leading a trip to kenya all in [what appears will be] a very close together time.
and maybe i've had moments that i've thought to myself that this has to be wrong.
shouldn't we have gotten that long awaited date before they closed for the summer?
after being filed for weeks on end--waiting and waiting.
the perfect amount of time for everyone to settle in and gradually all those changes
would be upon us and leave. but, no. it appears they will all be [almost] happening
at the same time and although i don't understand it, i know that it will be okay.
when i have started to doubt, i hear a quiet whisper that it will be the perfect time.
i'm not sure why yet. [i may never know.] but, if i am to know, i look forward to seeing
why. will it be because of something i need to be here for? will it be because some
procedures on that end will be better worked out? will it be because i am supposed to
be in country at the same time as someone else? i'm sure there are a lot more possibilities
and i rest in the hope that He works all things together for the good of
those who love Him. [Romans 8:28] i do love Him. and them. a lot.

This is a verse I cling to when we hit a bump in the adoption road. Thought I'd share with you today. "Slowly, steadily, surely the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. They will not be overdue a single day!"-Habakkuk 2:3
ReplyDeletei felt much the same about the timing of our recent process, and i just know that although i can't see it yet (and may never know on this side), God worked and moved in those specific months and days with eternal purpose.
ReplyDeletei am so, so excited for your boys to be home.
Perhaps He knows that the boys would have problems with getting settled into your current home, then moving, then having your hubby go back to their homeland. Maybe by having it all happen that closely together, they won't notice the upheaval and craziness...then when it starts to be too much, you will all be home and settled. It will make for a crazy time, but you have the best support system around (both family and Faith).
