the little girl.
hundreds of kids sat down on the red dirt for worship time.
i carefully stepped over little fingers and bare feet to a spot in the middle.
she crawled into my lap, rubbed my hand against her face & fell asleep.
i carefully stepped over little fingers and bare feet to a spot in the middle.
she crawled into my lap, rubbed my hand against her face & fell asleep.
i wondered about her. i wondered what her name was. i wondered how far she walked
to be there today. when she comes to this feeding program, does
she have parents that happily send her off--excited for her & what she will learn that day
at the bible time? happy that she gets to run & play with her friends on a playground
like Uganda has never seen? will they work on her memory verse with her
& sing the worship songs together as they go about the rest of the day?
i prayed over her. oh, how i hope the above is true. but, if it is not,
i hope that she hears there. hears that she is loved by the greatest Father of all.
hears that this world might not offer her much, but that this? this
isn't what it is about. hears that her time here is a tiny blink
of an eye, but she has the chance to live forever in a perfect, new world.
sweet girl, i hope you hear...and choose.

this time was during Amazima's feeding program.
if you are looking for a ministry to support, i highly recommend this one.
you can support their feeding programs, give to where it is most needed or even
sponsor individual children! [we sponsor 2 & even got to meet one on my last trip!]
start all of this is Katie...a young lady with faith, trust & obedience like
i've never before seen.

Oh how those pictures melt my heart.
