i want a baby like that, too.

matt just got back from Kenya.
he went with a group from our church.
we are 'adopting' an orphanage there--taking on getting
them medical care, clean water, sponsoring the children for
school and food, addressing structural and building issues,
assisting them with agriculture and learning about sustainable
living.  i am really, really excited about it and so thankful that our
community at church has the opportunity to get involved.
i can't wait to visit myself someday.

he saw: a lot of elephants.  even a baby one.  [i die of cute.]
the sunrise and mount kenya.
and these beautiful faces.
matt has done mission work several times in South America
and the Dominican Republic, but this was his first trip to Africa.
we didn't have much time to talk while he was there, but all i wanted to
know was if he loved Her as much i as did as soon as he stepped foot onto her ground.
he said yes.

hoping to catch up on e-mails tonight.  especially those of you with adoption
questions; i'm not ignoring you.  hope you have a happy day, friends!

  9. absolutely LOVE that baby elephant. being in africa and getting to experience her beauty...like that baby elephant is indescribable!

i too have questions about adopting from uganda. when i try and do research to learn more about the process i can't seem to find nearly as much information as if you're wanting to adopt from ethiopia or china...if you could give me some basic knowledge or steer me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated!

    thanks love!

  14. Oh, that elephant! So tiny (sort-of...it's all relative, right?). ;)

I sometimes wonder if you'll just pack up your family and move to Africa one of these days. I could totally see that happening.
