early morning.

there is the most beautiful sound in the morning.

the sun is shining brightly through the babies' windows.

i can hear the bounce-bounce-bouncing of their matresses.

and the BOOM of their little booties plopping back down.

i can imagine them looking at each other from their cribs.

 i hear the giggling as they let go of the railing and fall down.

bianca always reaches for me first,

as clay lays down & kicks his feet, laughing in anticipation of me

pummeling him with kisses and squeezes.

he plays while bianca and i sit and savor the last few moments 

that we have just-for-us in our white chair. 

not every morning is so peaceful.

but, when it is, i want to remember it forever.
