mom and me
one of my favorite blogging friends, erin, tagged me to do this meme about my kids and day. thanks, erin. =)

first post a picture of you and your kids.

1. How many children do you have?
3...and 1 due in january
2. What are their ages?
chloe is almost 5, anika is almost 4, ellie is almost 2
3. What time do you start your day?
between 7-7:30 am
4. What do you eat for breakfast?
me personally?? it really depends. sometimes nothing, sometimes yogurt, a granola bar, cereal or fruit. usually i'd have coffee or a latte daily....but right now i'll have a 1/2 caf. about 4 times a week. =)
5. Do your kids watch TV?
they each can watch "their" show one time per day. we're not obsessive about it....they sometimes get more...but that's the basic rule. chloe usually chooses "hannah montana." this is okay as long as matt or i can sit with her. i really thought the show was going to be innocent and quickly found out it is NOT. but, because chloe enjoys her so much, we allow her to watch it and it gives us a chance to talk about a lot of things: the words we choose and the way we should treat our friends and family. anika usually picks "dora the explorer." if they get another show in the day it is "doodlebops" because ellie seems to like that best.
6. What are their favorite activities?
the favorite of all of them together is having dance parties. we crank up the speakers throughout the house and dance at least once a day. =)
7. Do you get a break during the day for some you time?
not consistently. chloe or anika is in preschool for 2 hours on alternating days. this gives me a nice chunk of time with the other 2 girls. ellie is my only napper....so this gives the older 2 and i some time together. occasionally matt is here and i sneak away for 15 minutes or so. also, matt's time is really flexible and his days aren't long....so that's a huge blessing. a college girl comes over for 4 hours one morning a week, which is so nice to have that time for me.
8. How do you end your day?
the girls are usually in bed at 6:30 and snoring by 7pm. this gives matt and i a good few hours to spend time together, be on the computer, watch TV and just relax. we sometimes order take out from our favorite restaurants and picnic on the floor of the living room. =)
9. What is your best parenting advice or tip?
always try to have the perspective that although the days can be long at times, the years go by much too quickly.
tag 5 people:
i know i'm a poor sport about tagging people. but, if you wanna do this PLEASE let me know you did. i actually like being tagged....and i like reading other people's, so i don't know what my issue is. it's a personality thing. =)

You look amazing!! What a beautiful family you have.

it's so true how the days can drag and the years just fly right by! and it's so easy to get wrapped up in the busy schedules and forget that . . . i have been trying so hard to remember that and remember how quickly our girls are growing up right before our eyes!
ReplyDeletei loved this glimpse into your day...and you're so right about long days and flying years.
ReplyDeletebut um, asleep by 6:30 or 7? really? can they teach this to my children please? haha...mine are WIDE awake by 6 am (but have to stay in their beds till 6:30), and then go to bed at 8 pm (9 for the oldest) but often don't actually fall asleep till 10:30 or so. sleeping is not their forte. ;)
It has been so long since I left some love for Love! Thanks for checking in with me and for leaving me so many sweet notes; you are such a kind hearted lady. I love it when I see a shout out from you!! ;) Only a couple more months and your new baby will be here! HOORAY!! I hear mine stirring in the other room. This is the moment when I know I should be sleeping but it is kind of useless because she will be up in 30 minutes and by the time I got into a good sleep she would be waking me...ready for that again? ;)
ReplyDeleteSo fun catching up on your adventures!!
Thanks again for all the support and friendship you offer me through blogger world!! ;)
You have such a beautiful family....love having lots of kiddos!! So much fun and so many blessings!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my bloggy giveaway....and you nailed it on the head about the stories and memories. So much goes on in our busy families and the stories just slip by, details are forgotten and then what? Good luck and if you win I can't wait to see what stories your family tells! ;o)
